Decision Making
What I have learned in econ class so far really impacts my life when I make a personal decision. For example, today I had a history quiz that I needed to study for as well as two pages of Hebrew homework due. I went ahead and I thought of marginal analysis and thought of what would benefit me more when doing homework. I choose the next best thing, which was to study for my history quiz so I would get a good grade on it and so it would benefit to my grade in integrated as one of my first A's. Instead of doing Hebrew homework last night and trying to balance out my time between hebrew homework and history, I did my Hebrew homework in my free period instead thinking that it would benefit my time more and that I wouldn't have to rush through it, tired and exhausted late at night. Another economic concept that is significant to my life that I can connect with a personal story is, trying to work with an incentive in mind. Last year I did okay in school, not as well as I could have but this year, I'm trying different things and thinking different ways. More or so, I'm thinking with an incentive. If I think with a certain incentive towards school, I will be motivated to do my work better and it will pay off somehow. Last but not least, another Economic concept that I can connect to is, trying to be more productive with my time and consider the cost of time. If I waste too much time watching TV shows and not doing my homework to gain more knowledge in such class, I might fail a test or be clueless in the classroom. The homework would benefit me more than the TV show that I spend time watching.

Tiffany,
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have to try to take your time and make sure that you are addressing each point clearly and concisely. You addressed marginal analysis, but your explanation was a little vague. Also, you mentioned a "certain incentive" but what was your incentive? You touched on some important ideas but did not show a complete understanding of the concepts.
